My dear friend,
Your letter is just to hand. I am happy to know that you are all fine. In your letter, you wanted to know about my favourite season. So I am writing this letter to tell you about my loveliest season.
In our country, there are six seasons each with its unique variety and beauty. But my favourite season is spring. It is the season between winter and summer. It starts in the month of March and ends in the month of May. Spring is the season of love, hope and joy.
It wins my heart for its manifold charms. It is the season of new flowers, new leaves, fragrance and beauty. Nature puts on a beautiful grab in spring. This season gives new life to the environment. The trees which looked lifeless with leafless branches spring into life. Tender leaves shoot out from the branches of trees. Flowers of various hues decorate nature. The sky is cloud-free and looks like a huge canopy over the earth. Birds are chirping and singing. The sweet song of the cuckoo thrills our hearts. It makes the atmosphere romantic.
It is the most pleasant season. The temperature is neither unbearably cold as in winter nor scorchingly hot as in summer. In this season pleasant wind blows from the south and makes everything fresh. A pleasant atmosphere pervades all around. Various types of vegetables, and fruits, are available in this season. Doljatra ( Holi ), Basanti Pooja, Shivratri, and Charakpuja are celebrated during this season. It is for all these varieties that spring is rightly called “the king of all seasons.”
I enjoy all other seasons more and less but spring appeals to me most. That is why spring is my favourite season.
